Default To resonate or not to resonate

I'm in the process of fixing my exhaust and I'm trying to decide if I want to add a Dynomax Racing Bullet as a resonator, as suggested in other threads. I like the sound of the car right now but I could handle it being just a LITTLE quieter around town.

How much difference does this little muffler actually make? Does it change the tone at all or just reduce the volume a little?

Current exhaust is 2.5" from turbo to bumper with an ebay "high flow" cat and relatively small magnaflow muffler (I think it's 14" long).

Yes something like that would make a noticeable difference, but a longer, wider, more proper resonator would make a much bigger difference. The voume will go down and it will sound deeper.

I'm not looking for a big difference, does anybody know just what kind of difference the little bullet will make?

No band clamps, they suck butt and are the reason my exhaust is on my workbench instead of under my car. I'll get one and weld it in and if I don't like it then I will keep the pipe I removed for re-insertion.

band clamp are awesome. I used two to put my resonator on. I finally got around to welding it, and since i used a permatex muffler bandage under the clamp (http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...pe_Bandage.htm) it pretty much welded the pipes together. We had to grind it all off. The rear one wasn't budging so we left it alone.

I remember the difference of resonator vs. none when I had the srt and the none-resonated 3" sounded way better. Granted it had more of a rough/raw sound too it...but in a good way.

I called summit and the guy said the racing bullet isn't stainless. With that news, unless anybody can suggest anything else for about the same price I'll probably just skip the resonator again and stick with what I've got.

dynomax bullet race muffler.

they are the bomb. not cherry.

i believe my exhaust with cat + bullet race muffler + 22" magnaflow stainless universal oval is pretty much perfect.

Ok, so is it actually stainless or is it aluminized? The description says both, and aluminized won't last long up here in the winter. That and the rest of my exhaust is stainless.

you need this part number: 17240

Ultra Flow SS

Magnaflow Part# 10426 = $63.62 at performancepeddler.com, you can always low ball them, they usally go for it since they have best pricing from Magnaflow over any other vendor.

Please note, we are unable to advertise our lowest possible prices for Magnaflow products.

All you need to do is make an offer, ANY offer...1 million dollars, or 1 shiny quarter, and you'll get our best price.

Our advertised price is $63.62. You are welcome to buy at this price too, but we're pretty sure you'll like the other price better!

I can't boldify your post, but the last line says steel, aluminized. And the guy on the phone seemed to think it was aluminized. you own one though, right? I'll take your word for it.
