I don't there's any claim that it's the highest HP miata, just the highest HP with a "stock" motor. There is someone local to me that has a V8 Supercharged miata that's on the bottle. Bet it's in excess of 600whp.

Thanks pitlab, does anyone know if he's running a 1.8 diff or rx7 one? Just wondering at what will work with high hp #'s.

He's running the Guru LSD in a 7" Miata diff. housing.

BTW, pretty sure that's not a stock motor...and pretty sure it's just about the highest-power BP out there. Skyler's car was probably "only" making around 500-550rwhp, and he turned a 10.4 @ 139 (memory's a little fuzzy, but I believe that's about right).

Most of the V8 guys don't go for crazy amounts of horsepower, believe it or not. A few of them are in the 400+rwhp/lb-ft zone, but the majority are in the 250-350rwhp area.

I think he ment stock as in not swapped engine.

So my 1.8 '99 diff should be good for like 3-400whp right? Just wondering because I might go high hp, just doing my research for now.

Depends on how ya use it, but yeah, I'd guess that if you're not doing 1.5-second 60-ft. launches on drag radials every Friday night, it'll probably last a long time. The 5-speed and the axles will definitely break first.
