Default Lack of boost?

Found a guy locally to help me tune the MS. Went out today and got it close and then starting boostin it. Saw 5 psi tuned for it and all was well. Than tightened down the waste gate all the way and got 8psi max???

What do I need to do to make 12-15?

I've seen springs helpin the wastegate stay closed, do I need that?

manual boost controller

::edit:: but probably don't want to up the boost much since i don't see any form of intercooling in your sig.

im pretty sure that at that boost level you need either a boost controler or a different actuator
do you have a boost controler?

Ok, the powercard was a joke.

Budgetracer and whaam5x are right on the money. The only way to achieve a nice consistent boost at the level you're talking about is with a proper boost controller. There are as many different manual boost controllers as there are opinions, but it's ultimately what you're going to need.

Another, possibly less expensive option, would be to implement electronic boost control via your Megasquirt. The actual solenoid itself is quite inexpensive (about $40, including the connector, from DIYAutotune) though you'll need to make a hardware mod to the MS to drive it. Are you running an MSPNP or did you assemble your own?

I'm running a Brainiack boomslang setup with EBC (that does not work...yet). I just thought I could get more from the wastegate alone.

Doe it sound about right to get 8psi with just the WB tight? If so that would sound like its all working and I have to get the EBC working.

That is correct... actually, I'm surprised the stock Greddy wastegate is giving you that much. I know your exhaust is good-sized, which is probably helping.

If your MBC isn't working, communicate with Braineack via PM for help. If you need an MBC, I have a spare one you're welcome to in the meantime.

Sam, i believe he may have the wrong resistor installed on his board as well...if you don't mind maybe you can help him out with that one.

Mike and I talked last night. I've got extra resistors, so we can make it happen. I'll probably see him this weekend and we can solder it in.
