#8 is cool because you have to commit to #8 turn-in before the crest, so you can't see it, its all feel. However, that corner scares the **** out of me too because I'm not getting airborn at like 85mph off the crest and hopefully setting the car down square another 20' later. Its horrific at speed, but it makes the testosterone.

Oh, and notice the roll bar poking through the bottom of the inverted car.

We do it all the time. He has a roll bar, it just punched holes through the floor. I have no clue if that guy is still alive or not.

This **** makes me want to build a proper racecar.

Very sad. You know it happens at the track...and that there's the risk...but it hurts to see.

I actually stopped watching racing for a few years as a kid after Senna died. Hit me kinda hard at 12.

I hope this guy and his passenger made it. He should have been listening to the instructor.

He probably was listening to the instructor but people don't understand that although you may not be turning as you exit 7, getting ready for 8, and you're curious about what lies over the hill, if you lift...its going to be over for you. Sometimes you can put both feet in and save it, sometimes you can matt-it and keep spinning but going straight...but if you get sideways you will compress at the bottom of the hill and then you're a passenger. I've seen lots of cars go off and die the same way there.

The first few times you go through there, it really is tough to commit, but after you see stuff like this its much easier to leave the pedal on teh firewall.

Damn, that's scary how the bolt in cage failed.

According to this link, the driver and passenger were both ok.

I have no Idea how they were ok. Maybe they slid through the seatbelt which means no harness.

Wall needs moar tires.

I kept scrolling through thinking, "that will leave a mark". When I saw upside down I thought "oh crap, really bad day". I do hope that they both made it.

wow, way to fail at rollcage building, apparently the bottoms of the bar were not welded to plates, and apprently he just had a bar and not a cage...

I'm thinking the fence was not of much help either.

That track has been hit with "emininent domian" or whatever 3-times according to the current owners for development because its right-next to a major highway. According to the Connie who runs the track, the environmental fees to remove the 3,000,000+ tires is too much so that track will basically go nowhere. You've never seen more tires in your life. They have tires 2-deep at the least, all around the track, on both sides.

Reminds me of the carnage found at turn #12 at Road Atlanta.

Rob can attest to the ***** needed to take turn 12 properly....
