Default exhaust noise???

Alright i just replaced my whole exhaust headers back to the tip, it makes this noise when i slow down around 2500rpms it sounds like metal or somethings rubbing against something terrible sound or when i step on the gas around 2500rpms in gear, makes my car sound like ****...its really annoying me. Anyone ever have this problem? If so could you tell me what it is because i just replaced my whole exhaust because thats what i thought it was but guess not. If you want me to get an audio clip to help out i can.

do you have a flex pipe on your downpipe? or does your piping touch any part on your car?

sounds like you changed it with another stock exhaust, if so, keep in mind you still have the heat shielding, and thats whats making that shitty sound
more info on exhaust would be nice to narrow it down

I don't have any heats shields, i put in headers, magnaflow high flow cat, and a borla cat back exhaust. And when i was under the car i moved it to see if it hits anything it doesn't, but its close to the diff. And if it was hitting anything i would probably feel the vibration. It does sound like heat shields but i don't have any the only heat shields that are left is the one above the cat and the one above the muffler and their attached to the body of the car. I will try and get a sound clip tonight.

while the best way to tell would be if i was actually there, but since not i can only give advice what to look for, if the exhaust was hitting anything it wouldnt rattle, it would be loud as **** and you could tell where its hitting, so again, if you have any heat shield on an NA, it will rattle...thats all there is to it, check the one above the cat, especially where you live...rust ftw, lol

yeah, this is what helped me find where my annonymous rattles came from, i got under the car, try to wear goggles, and bang on the exhaust with something heavy (hammer etc.) and try to trace exactly where its coming from, a lot of times the sheet will tear around the bolts that keep it in place...gl

Get it in the air get under there and start beating it with a RUBBER hammer. You will fine the rattle, guaranteed.

My car does had the same type of noise from day one when I bought it in 2003. I've removed all of the heat shields, and added a hanger or two. I think it's just resonation. between 3K-3.5K it always sounds like poo.

time to get the car off the ground and drive it on jack stands to find the issue. it's possible that it has nothing to do with the exhaust (broken hood prop clip in my case....causing prop to vibrate on headlight motor).
