Default Post pics of you DIN gauge setup

I'm having trouble finding the appropriate mounting solution for a 3 gauge DIN. An aftermarket head unit was installed on my car before I bought it and the DIN mounting is not stock. So basically there is no place to clip the gauge panel in.

What did you use to do it?

Trying to get this done before a track day on the 12th. Any help, photos, direction to where I can get possibly a universal 2 din install kit that will work etc.

Not sure who makes my DIN panel, I bought it used from cr.net

Here are a few that may help though -

It's a universal 3-gauge panel from fleabay. It fits pretty snugly into the DIN opening and the extra metal tabs on the front get sandwiched behind the center surround trim. It stays in place pretty well. I'm going to end up relocating some gauges when the turbo goes on but this panel has served me pretty well thus far.

This is exactly whea I'mt rying to do, except the gauges on the top. The problem is, the whole 2 DIN thing that the head unit is attached to right now is not two seprate peices and only has one open slot. The other DIN is a giant plastic piece. I'm going to post a pic up tommorow and see if anyone else had t his issue and how I can figure it out.

Forget the DIN install, you shouldn't need to look down that much in a track car. I wish I had pictures of my old RX7's gauges, they were on top of the gauge hood "frog eye" style.

If you only have 2 gauges, do this:

1/4" aluminum, with a lip machines around the perimeter on the back side, which holds it in from the back very well, then the plastic surround holds it in place from the front.

I <3 having a mill.

Ok... so looks like what I have is a fairly common panel in the Miata. Looks like this.

The way it's designed (as one solid plastic piece) makes it impossible to use the whole area as two seprate DIN slots.

They are just temp gauges. My AFR and boost will be mounted in line of sight.

I have one panel left (6 gauge) so there are three holes on top, three on bottom. If you bought it all you would have to do is trim out the metal between the holes on the bottom row if you wanted a slot for a head unit... I've been sellin these for $30 shipped.

You think it would work with a head unit? mine is just currently held in place with the metal tabs you can bend up on the head unit it self. How thick is the panel and are they 52mm gauge holes?

Can you PM me a photo? And i'm going to go measure the height of my head unit to make sure it will work. If you can do me a favor and measure the distance from the far left of the left gauge hole and the far right of the right gauge hole as well as the diameter of the hole (I assume 52mm) that would help me figure out if it would work and if it does I'll buy it.
