Default Track MPG

I'm just curious... those of you who track your miatas a lot, how low do you get the gas mileage? Any single digits??

I have no data for the Miata, but my 3800 pound turbo Audi got 6 MPG around Watkins Glen

With the way they drive, I'd almost be surprised if the n/a guys weren't in the single digits. Us turbo guys ought to be deep into the low singles.

Oh God...well into the single digits for me. I don't know exactly, but I did a track day at Talledega Grand Prix and I had to go to the gas station....twice, during the day.

Depending on the track, 3-5mpg.

I spent an afternoon running pig trail in Eureka Springs last year and got 11mpg. Spent nearly 4 hours in 2nd and 3rd gear.

No track time yet so I can't report that.

+1 for only ~$25 in gas per track day.

If you guys would just slow down a little you could get better mileage and help save the earth by reducing your nasty single-digit-MPG-test-pipe-fitted carbon footprint.

OK, park the VW and put down the bong. Or should I call you "Vash" now? Haha.

Edit: I'm typing this while I'm driving and I've had a liter of Aventinus and it's rush hour traffic. Woohoo!

The last track day (HPDE) I went to was at Texas World Speedway on 02/14/09: it was a cloudy, cool day, and we had 40-minute sessions. I got 8 miles per gallon.

i average 6 mpg on track. When i was NA i would average 12-15 mpg. Im still learning and i lift wait then brake, im sure the more experienced are WOT till the braking zones. This could be the difference in gas consumption.

I was going to say, I have no idea what mileage I get cause I'm busy, ya know, racing. Started with the needle dead in the middle of the gauge and 25ish minutes later it was gasping for fuel, below the E.

have no choice if you want to know what the minimum amount fuel is you can run in a race with one pitstop - it's all part of strategizing How precise? One race t&s screwed up and ran the timed race too long- I ran out of gas on the extra lap we were forced to run and went from 2nd in class to 18th. That was our best guess on having to run all out w/o any full course yellows. We added in a small contingency which wasn't enough to compensate for the unknown.

i hit 10mpg at 94whp, lol. Its going to be ugly with 3x the power. I'll pay $20 more per session to crush a few people.

I get 0 mpg because I am just running in circles at the track, and not really getting anywhere.
