Question in regards to clutches, my car has a FM happy meal with about 30k on it. The car from one day to another began slipping, usually when revs are low on say 3rd gear & I pop the throttle. I confirmed my suspicions a while back ago by shifting from 4th gear while in low revs to 5th to a WOT. The car began to shake with the revs jumping until the clutch caught up.

Some background on the car from day one the clutch adjustment has been weird. While in neutral & trying to go into a gear it will basically lockout until a second attempt is made even third? I have adjusted the clutch pedal under the dash up until recently while it has helped some it still exhibits slip & lockout. The car itself has a leaky CAS seal & valve cover gasket, I have tried replacing the gaskets for the VC & still leaks even with torque down to spec. The CAS gasket I completely forgot about until last month. I'm reaching the end of my rope with this car.

Have someone depress the clutch while you look at the slave, it could be leaky and/or not retracting properly.

Also, your RMS could be leaking onto the friction disc causing it to slip.

What would be an easy way of inspecting the rear main seal.

your description is so vague that the only sureproof method is to take everything apart and put it back together.

30k is a lot of miles depending on what you've been doing.

Yeah I apologize, well I've never dropped the trans before or any time in my life.

Its been mainly normal driving, with some spirited drives.

Normally, oil from a rear main seal leak won't get on the clutch disk. Remember, the flywheel is a spinning disk and the oil is coming from the front (engine side) of the flywheel while your clutch disk is on the back side.

Easiest way to see if the MS is leaking is first stop all other leaks, ie, Cam cover & CAS. Clean the engine with degreaser. To check for more leaks, pull back boot around throw out bearing arm. Oil here (presuming you've stopped other leaks) is either coming from engine main seal or transmission input shaft seal. Smell of oil will tell you if its engine or tranny.

Lots of reasons for clutch to slip - too much lube on splines during assembly, grit on splines making things stick, TOB sticking etc etc. but don't forget #1, it may be worn out. Not impossible to use one up in 30k. Hard (fun?) to do, but possible.
