Default Can't get PS bracket off

I'm trying to remove the power steering and install the pulley so I can just use a/c but for the life of me I can't get the third bolt off of the ps bracket. It is covered up by the bracket itself and underneath is the water pump neck so I can't fit a wrench in there either. I tried cutting the bracket to get to the bolt but the dremmel stopped working halfway through the cut. Any ideas?

There's an insert that you can remove. Drift it out with a hammer and a punch. I personally didn't find this out untill I got it off turning the whole bracket to loosen the bolt then putting my finger to stop the bolt from spinning as I lifted the bracket off.( sort of like the process of using a ratchet)

That insert can be a **** too, especially if there's any corrosion. I probably spent 2 hours wailing on it to get mine out.

I'm working on this one too on a spec car. Insert is stuck (corroded). I'm halfway cutting it through with an angle grinder, a chisel and a BFH. Thing won't budge either way, so cutting was the only option left. Just be careful in not hitting the water neck just below.

it comes out to the front of the car and I found no way of placing a punch and hammer between the bracket and the exhaust manifold, hence the cutting...

Well, when I get off work I'm going to see if I can rotate the bracket with a mallet or something. Otherwise it will be off to figuring wtf is up with my dremel. This is the second one to go out on me in 3 days. I don't know if I'm overheating these things or what.

Just to update this thread, I did get the bracket off by hitting the corner with a hammer and it loosened the bolt just enough so I could remove it by hand. Now I just need a new dremmel so I can chop the lines.
