Is anyone else bored with their car?

if your serious have you thought about the season and time in the year people tend to go into a mild state of depression in the winter months. loss of interest energy ect... don't mean to insult you in any way just give it some thought. your car is the same as it was before your the who has changed you may regret getting rid of it. and switching toys can get expensive.

Anyways, I used to be like you. Bored with my car untill the best thing happend! I blew my motor!..Again Weeeee
Now i have something to do and while the cars down. I'm doing hella **** to it now, wire tuck, engine bay respray, upgrading the brakes, another new exhaust build,+ tons more
Try cleaning up your engine bay. When you think its clean, clean it some more.
goodluck and hope you and your miata and light that spark again

Sucks to hear.
You either didn't accomplish your goals, or didn't have realistic expectations of your goals. I used to get the same thing with weightlifting, which I'm sure you can relate to. I'd set some goal, thinking it was where I wanted to be, and when I got there it wasn't as radical as I thought it would be. I'd keep pushing, but eventually got bored.
I'm almost disappointed with my car sometimes...and it would take a LOT of coin to take it to the next level (ie built motor). I'm not ready to do that right now, and can't even think about picking up another project.
Sounds goofy, but I'm considering parting mine out and just focusing more on my family and school. A lot of this could have been avoided if I'd taken a few rides in turbo Miatas. It's odd, because all my buddies say the car is great, and that I've completely transformed it. I know I did what I set out to do, but it didn't turn out quite as expected.
I still get happy driving it...but it could never make me as happy as the equivalent amount of time spent with my loved ones. Tough cookie, but that's the way it crumbles.
Either find a goal you know you'll be happy with and get there, or invest your time and energy elsewhere. Boost is great, but not the utmost adventure for everyone. I think I mainly did it because I love working on things...and now that it's pretty much done I'm kinda let down.
+1 on getting into racing like splittime said. I feel that if I could take my car on a track I would appreciate it a lot more.

I bought a 93 explorer for 600 bucks for the winter and didn’t drive my girlfriends WRX for a couple weeks. The first time I got back in it I was amazed at how much power it has and how much faster I could go through corners (she used to not let me drive it because I would always complain about it's lack of power) It feels freakishly fast after driving the explorer around. When I was routinely driving my Miata the WRX felt slow as *****.
Should be an exciting spring once I get the Miata out again.
Maybe try buying and driving a shitty slow *** car that’s no fun to drive whenever you start getting bored with your Miata

To tell you the truth i've been feeling the same lately. Im definitely not gonna sell it since I put too much work into it and im still not done, but I think its because I never get to really have fun with it anymore. I havent been to any trackday or autocross event in the past 4 1/2 months and just keep dumping money into it. And being in college with the car two hrs away I dont really get to drive it either. But hey one day i'll be back to my old self again enjoying my car and so will you. Just wait for it. To keep me busy im actually trying to buy a daily and putting simple mods on it. Probably gonna be an E30 or E36

I use the car for a fun weekend car, as of boost I don't think my stocker wants more than 14psi. I think if I do a track event I will love the car again but I just don't think my motor will hold a track day without being built and I'm not ready to drop more coin.
I feel like power wise I've reached the limit and to take it to the next step I would need lots of $. 250hp doesn't seem fast enough even tho my friends think is fast when I take them for a ride, I don't know maybe when the summer comes I'll like it again.
Or I might sell it and get my self a bike.

Im in the same boredom boat too .. Ive tried curing the blues with other crappy cars, 95 Volvo 850 Non turbo with a Slow as **** automatic. I got the Volvo for 400 bucks, and had to put a head on it, and about to flip for some coin, but it just hasn't hit yet that the miata is the most fun car ive ever had. Although i KNOW it is the best.
Persionally too,My setup isnt helping my daily driving fun. Im tired of the Azenias.... Rock hard, ride like ****, no girp in the cold. Crappy tires. I need to put the all weathers back on for the winter. Also too talking about how to enjoy the car... my best times in the car, were NA, at a few track days, **** 4 years ago.. SOO my twin-10 goal is to get to a trackday or two, and stop wasting my time at the auto X. I agree. get out there and strech your legs...
I also have my eyes directed in other ways by a good friend of mine. V8 Bricks..He built nearly over the summer. Check his build here: V8BRICK to 285Ti - Turbobricks Forums
Yes its v8 rated/ 488 hp in a volvo wagon. Just seems like something diferent to work on, and defantly more challenging than the miata.
Hopefully spring will bring more auto fun... I also have a wedding to plan for in 6 months. so the car will have to serve as my GETAWAY

i have this issue actually, i get bored with everything over time. don't ask me why but last night i was thinking about a supercharger swap on the corrado i passed up, to by my miata. The first year i had my gsxr750 i put about 6k on it, last year i put less than
2k. that said, every time i drive my 2000 protege dx i wish i was with either of my toys.
