Default Anyone running FM downpipe with Begi-s kit

Ok, so i need to get some clarification on this. I just got a donwpipe elbow from FM and apparently i need some kind of a spacer. I guess its for the wastegate flapper door, right?

If someone here has one can they please show me what it is?

Apparently FM is out of the spacers and not getting them anytime soon.

This blows!

well dont they use the same turbo? so the fm elbow should bolt up fine, unless they usually include a spacer w/ their kit. Anyway, if clearance is an issue, which i've heard of, begi can get you a spacer.

I'm running a FM elbow (older bellmouth version) and I have no issues
All FM/BEGi stuff is interchangable/compatable (sans the SS mani BEGi has), so you should be able to use a FM DP on a Bell manifold/turbo and vise-versa.

the flapper door is part o' the turbo itsself, has nothing to do with the car. if you just have the elbow, you're gonna need the rest of the DP. I read somewhere the other day about spacers to give the wg flapper more room to fully open (not on fm elbow though), and someone said begi got them one, so give them a call

It has all to do with the car. It might not do anything with elbow but its has a ton to do with the car.

The spacer i need is apparently between the turbo and the manifold. I guess FM mani put the turbo further away from the engine block so there is more space for the downpipe to curve around the tranny. However i just measured the hight of my begi mani and its the same hight as the FM. So i am not sure why am getting all this info about spacers and such.

The problem is i get conflicting information. Begi tells me manifolds are virtually identical but FM tells me theirs is taller.

they aren't identical manifolds, but they put the turbos in identical physical locations

Thats what Stephanie told me, but FM is saying theirs is 10mm taller. So that means that the turbo should be 10mm further away from the block. FM told me its done like that so there is more space for the downpipe to have more space to curve around the tranny. I am a little skeptical about this because by just visual inspection it looks like this would cause the elbow to hit the sheet metal right under the heater hose.

So can someone please verify this for me. I need someone with FM mani, to put it flat on the table and measure it from the table top to where the turbo would mount. And same for the Begi mani. I could measure my begi many but it wont be as accurate if someone actually has it off their car.

The info i got from FM is that their mani is 4 5/16 tall.

I have two options here for a DP. I either order a Fm DP to mate with the elbow i already have or i get a shop make me a custom piece. I would rather get the FM piece but i want to make sure it fits properly.

well i know they designed it to be backwards compatible with previous designs...so i mean, if it's 10mm off and the old stuff still fits...

Begi is 3.75 and and FM is 4 5/16. So They are different. ~10 mm difference is quite a lot. So i am getting a custom piece made by a reputable shop locally. So if anyone is interested i can try to arrange to have them make more than one.
