Lately I have been getting an annoying squeak/chirping when the clutch isn't depressed. Once the clutch is depressed the noise goes away. Continues to get louder & louder, I'm thinking of how to go about this. I have never removed a transmission before or worked on it at all. Don't get me wrong I do my fluid changes & all. The clutch is fairly new, barely had any mileage when I first bought the car. Its a FM Happy Meal Combo. Considering asking a friend or someone to help with the replacement. Replacement wise is an OEM one fine or go with something completely different? Thanks guys.

Did you swap the throw out bearing when doing the fm combo?

The stock one will be fine as long as u dont plan on upgrading anything, so if u plan on adding power stock will limit u at 200whp.

You are talking about just replacing the TOB with an OEM one right? Not the whole clutch? If the clutch still grabs then just swap out the TOB. OEM should be fine. I have the same issue on my car right now. I have a squeak and if I rest my foot on the clutch pedal it goes away.

I purchased the car with the FM kit already installed. I apologize for asking a stupid question how would I check the belts? Just to be sure it isn't them. The clutch still grabs great, had low miles when purchased the car. I didn't want to necessarily go OEM, what are other throw out bearings that can work just fine over 200whp?

The TOB has nothing to do with power. I think he thought you meant replace the whole clutch with an OEM one. Just swap the TOB with a quality OEM one. Or better yet call FM and tell them what you are doing and they will be happy to sell you one.

Ok, this is gonna sound weird and totally bogus, but it worked for me. I installed an FM1 clutch/pp/tob last year, and about 6mos later I got an annoying tob squeak. Figured it was dead. I called FM and they said to make sure the point of contact between the fork and slave rod was well lubed and see if that didn't fix it. Damn if it didn't. The noise has come back once more and re-lubing fixed it again. Grab some heavy bearing grease and give it a shot. Might save you a huge headache.

Since we are on the subject, my throw out bearing is pretty noisy when depressing the pedal. It's really not a grinding noise, but it is definitely audible. The bearing is new, I got an OEM one when I first got the car going, it made the noise, when I put the 6 speed in it I changed it and it still makes the noise.

I have had the thought in the back of my head that maybe I should be running a different throw out bearing with the 949 twin disc?

Correct i thought u meant replace the clutch with a stock one.
