Default Finally got around to doing my 3" exhaust.

After 7 years and 4 turbo kits I finally got around to doing the exhaust. I redid the lower section of the downpipe and back in 3" mandrelbent stainless. Unfortunately I could only find cheapass mild steel hangers. I always forget to order something The stainless hangers should be here by the middle of next week...maybe I'll swap them out in another 7 years.

I went with a plain Magnaflow muffler 5x8x18, center inlet/offset outlet, metalcore cat, no resonator. I hope it's not loud. The 5x11x24 muffler was a tight fit. I tried a fancy tig welded vibrant muffler but that bitch was LOUD.

The exhaust tip isn't in nor are all the hangers. Pics:

Just gotta figure out a way to drive your car upside down to show off that sexy stainless steel hotness.

Thanks everyone again for the great compliments.

The Tein's are nice. I only have maybe 200 highway and 5 twisty miles on them, but so far they are killer.

Marketable? Hmm. That'd be nice, but I don't know how to build a Jig so I'd hate to have it not fit a customer's car. Also I don't know exactly where the factory places their flange. I do have an old enthuza exhaust I can use to figure that out, but seems like making a copy of a copy isn't very accurate.

If someone local with a factory exhaust manifold (or a header that bolts up to same spot) that i can use to make an exhaust, I may consider doing it and fabrication/installation costs would be waived. Hmm.

Here are pics of (from left to right) my old roommate's 2.25" Enthuza, my new 3", and my old crushbent 2.5" exhaust. My new exhaust is straighter compared to both. Weights are: 29lb 12oz, 24lb 0 oz, 29lb 14.5oz respectively, including cats pictured.

I am very surprised at the loudness (or lack thereof) of this exhaust. From idle to ~2000 rpm it is the loudest/bassy. From then on it is pretty damn quiet. I can barely hear it on the highway, although I have only driven it with the top down; I do not know about resonance with the top up or with the hardtop on. That'd have to wait for another day.

Sound clip is still on the way, sorry.

Your exhaust and some of the MS stuff has been the only things making me want to finish my car.

I'm curious to see the power difference between the new and old. Both the cat and the new muff should flow much better. Is that a chambered (flowmaster) muff in the old exhaust?

TurboTim you should start making and selling that exhaust you made.
