How far back does that pan go in front? Porsche Cup cars have that type, but go all the way back.

Its goes all the way back and slightly passes the tranny. It actually covers the engine. Theres pics on page 3 I believe. Unless you have a leak somewhere you wont have to remove it since it has places where you can drain the oil or coolant from the bottom of it. Very nice piece

Theres a seller on ebay that distributes them. Just type in something like "miata HID" into the search engine on there and look for legit looking sellers with good feedback. any should do. alittle modification is needed to get them to fit in the housings

Vote that we should start a new lighting thread.

I'd love to get rid of the barn doors for weight purposes, and saw a newb (proto https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t37202/ ) that had a similar setup I'd like details on as well.

I bet the light pattern is vomitworthy. Some ------ on clubroadster did the same thing and there literally wasn't a cutoff.

I'll get some tomorrow night since i'll be back home.

Once i get the splitter and eveything on the car I guess i'll do a pictoral steb by step to what I did for the HID conversion as I reassemble everything. That guy pretty much has his setup exactly as I have mine

The light pattern is just fine. Since 10k HIDs are like 4-5 times brighter than the stock miata lights it really doesnt even matter. They're bright enough to see and even blind people. I dont have a problem the way they are

I think he's laughing at the HID temperature range youll be using. Supposedly, your light output is drastically reduced as the temperature of the bulb increases. Anything above 6k is basically eyecandy from that point (or more like, hey Mr. po po, please pull me over). The best light output you can get is around 4300k to 5300k

Every car that i've seen with bright HIDs were atleast 8k and they were significantly brighter than any standard headlight that i've seen. I guess 4k must be amazingly bright then.

Most OEM HIDs on production cars are 4300k. Must mean something.

Im comparing the 10ks to my 1990 flipup bulbs. The 10ks are definitely brighter. If they provide more light than what I was already using and look much better, then im a happy camper and so should anyone else going that route. End of story.

Patiently awaiting pictures of the light output of the HIDs in the turn housings. Are they stock turn signal housings or a aftermarket "clear" lens housing? The light output from my flip-ups is absolutely fail and I'd love to do something like this if it proves effective enough to at least match my current headlights.

Oh, and I started the aero thread on M.net. You're welcome.
