Pull the air bag, its 4 ten MM nuts on the back. Unplug the air bag and horn.

Un bolt and pull the wheel off.

Normally, I would tell you to slit your wrists or jump in front of a train. But since this is the nicer, more family-friendly MiataTurbo.net, I will just tell you this:

If you have to ask how to remove your steering wheel on a forum, you shouldn't be ******* around with your airbag. Leave it alone, or hire someone who knows what they are doing.

Seriously guy, I'm drunk right now and my posts are better typed than yours

Go to the m.net garage section and look there, it pretty much describes it step by step.

If you think replacing your stock steering wheel and airbag with an aftermarket one is plug and play, you really shouldnt be removing your airbag in the first place

have a friend shake the airbag sensor vigorously while you unscrew the airbag.

punch the nose of your car first. That will remove all risk.

I have never even seen the airbag sensor on our cars, def didnt come across it while installing the intercooler.

Hey noob, just take the steering wheel apart and unplug the air bag. Its not gonna explode in your face. If your that worried just wear a full face football helmet.

I have my change documented on my website: 93 steering wheel change

This is a more involved swap, as it allows me to go back to stock if needed. If that is not wanted, then all the cutting and filing to fit the air bag wiring is not needed.
