Ok so yesterday i put on my clutch master and slave, and the stainless line I bought from FM(hoping to ensure everything went smoothly). Replaced everything, bled the system, everything is fine except the metal line from the master cylinder to the FM stainless line is still leaking at that junction. Tightened it some more still leaking. I'm afraid to go any tighter. Is it ok to try some teflon tape on that fitting or not a good idea?

Any other ideas, i can't have this thing leaking.

Since its not an NPT fitting is would not use teflon tape.

Remove the line and inspect the sealing surface on the flare on the hard line and in the braided line. If it looks ok(no nicks, no debris) you may just need to tighten it down a little more. It shouldn't need any band aids to seal.

yeah i know it shouldn't have a problem but everything looks good and it's tight enough where i don't want to tighten anymore. I just went to the store and got some permatex thread sealant. Say it's acceptable for use with hydraulics. I brakleened the fitting and loaded it up with the sealant hopefully it will fix my stupid little problem. Gotta bleed it again too

Does that braided line help clutch pedal feel more crisp? I know it's supposed to, but can you really tell?

I can tell you right now that you are most likely going to need a new line/fitting, because i am afraid you overtightened the fitting, and now the sealing lip on the fitting is stretched, and no matter how tight you go, it will leak. sorry to spill it you boss but i wouldn't try anything other than a new line. coming from my experience i know how bad it can be when you destroy that lip by over tightening. a word of advice for all in the future, tighten the fitting until the wrench/spanner has resistance and then tighten two flats of the fitting. they won't leak and will never ruin, also they will be easier to remove in the future. good luck with that boss.

i didn't overtighten it's fine now, i ended up using some permatex thread sealant rate for use with hydraulics. there may have been some dirt or other crap in there when i first had put it on, i cleaned it out with brakleen very well and just used the thread sealant anyway. work find for now
