Food stamps, if you need them then use them. It's all about taking care of your kid now, **** pride.

My parents were briefly on WIC when I was a baby, some can argue I turned out ok.

About the cars, sell them, even if you have to part out the turbo project and sell the shell for scrap if you need to. Get a cheap 4 seater hatch. In 18 years you can buy yourself a cool car.

Haha...mock me for having government assistance and a diy turbo miata. Since when is having a 4.5k car with 1 grand invested into it irresponsible? You might forget that we have been paying to the goverment for 5 years each too. May not have been as long as some of ya'll but it is still money being paid. Now we are cashing in. One day I will be making a lot more and I will be paying in a lot more...but you know what. That will be okay because I took out too.

Cashing in? The government collects taxes not so you can "Cash In".

I'm sorry but your attitude really pisses me off. Look at your original post, you want a newer car with all these various requirements. I don't even have kids and I drive a 500$ 92' accord with 250k miles. I only bought a Miata when I knew I had enough funds to cover it, and have a good amount still in the bank.

We are not mocking you. You are getting told the truth. You are just so far out there that you think you deserve all these things. You want stuff handed to you.

Actually, for the first month or so we were figuring out how to pay for it on our own. Now we found all these great programs that pay for it for you. Why would I not use them? Lets see here...have gvt pay 10-12k for a birthing...or sell everything I have to pay for it on my own. I think the answer is pretty clear.

The government isn't paying I AM. I remember it clearly in the declaration....live, liberty and the pursuit of government assistance.

lets see here, almost graduated pilot with a job and takes care of her...sounds like a winner to me. two other people in my program are going through the same thing right now...and they are both late 20's. I guess they are scum too for using medicade to help pay for their babies...oh and one has a nice honda si and the other a hooked up tc. WOW!!!! What is this world comming to. Using gvt aid when you don't have the money...crazy!!! Guess my cousin is a mooch too....she has twins and used CHIP but drives an 05 Toyota Tundra crew cab...so much scum in this world you know?

Welcome to America...people don't sell their means of transportation to some how pay for it all. That's where the gvt steps in. If you have a high car note you can't get gvt assistance...makes sense. You also have to be poor as dirt to be elidgable for these programs...hmm...maybe that says something about us? I think the cut off was 1900 total gross income for two people a month?

Well, speaking as someone whose household income is in the six figures but who still has a naturally aspirated Miata, I'm glad that my taxes are going towards expensive government programs that enable the poor to keep their turbo cars while I pay to feed their kids.

Sell both of your Miatas. They are fun cars but have almost zero practical utility. Sell them both, buy one more reliable 4-dr vehicle and put any remaining cash in the bank. You need two cars that are kid-capable because you never know when you might have to pick up junior from daycare because mommy's running late from work and traffic is a **** and the daycare ***** are unsympathetic and are going to charge you a late pickup fee if you don't have his *** out of there promptly at 6:00. The extra insurance and mechanical upkeep on a 3rd vehicle of any sort is an unnecessary expense that you should be avoiding.

It's attitudes like Turbo_4's why our country is a going to ****. Socialism breeds lazy ******** looking for handouts.

I could easily foreclosure on my house and let the "Gov't" pay for me to live, but I'm not worthless scum either. America was not founded to reward bad behavior. It was never the intention for our government to do so.

fwiw, I eat PB&J every day for lunch, unless I find a coupon for free food online.

I don't get how you can hold title to a car PERIOD and be on any type of assistance. Ever hear of a ******* bus pass? How are you paying insurance on these cars? Where the hell does this sense of entitlement come from?

There is no shame in accepting help when you need it. Set an example for your new child and be a ******* man! Please put your child before your own wants.

Now now, I know what he was thinking at the time. "Hot damn this feels good. Do I really wanna pull out? Heck no, I'm gonna dump my creamy baby batter inside this warm pink velvet! She told me she was on the pill so everything should be fii... fii.. ooohhh... ooooooohhhhh... OOOOOOHHHHH.... AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!1!!one!"

Seems reasonable when you're bare backin' it ***** deep, eh? Women are good at using the poon to lure the gullible young bucks into the trap. And now they own your soul. Suddenly that bulk pack of Trojans doesn't seem so expensive, does it? Let this be a lesson to all you young'uns.

The problem isn't that he got this chick knocked up, it happens. The suckling on the government teat while resisting the notion that you should part with your fun yet entirely impractical car for the sake of raising the kid is the problem. You just have to accept the fact that when you're a parent, it's not really about you any more, and that clearly hasn't sunken in yet.

You aren't on the government tit. You are on mine.

I said sell the '01 because it is more marketable. And after pondering it further, you really don't need to insure two cars right now. You should probably also part and/or sell the 97 and get a reliable sedan or four door hatch for around $3000 of it. Plan to drive the reliable car for three years and have sprouted wings big enough to financially step up a little.

And no, you haven't been paying into the system for five years, because people making less than $25,000 really don't pay anything. If you think you do, you won't understand until you make much more. You have no clue just how much of my hard work the government confiscates at the point of a gun. And no, it doesn't make me smile. And just because all of your friends are raping the passed out girl at the party doesn't make it alright for you to cop a feel, even though you aren't as bad a violator as them, does it?

Wrong is wrong. That is why I mentioned the importance of being a man in my previous post.

When do morals count? When it is hard to have them.

I ate PB&J every day all through grad school. Peanut butter is pretty much the best food product ever made. And the sandwich gives you protein & carbs, which is some helpful nutrition when you're biking to & from school every day because you can't afford to drive your car.

After I finished my degree I figured I'd step the lunches up a notch, after all, I earned it. Now it's deli sandwiches. Ham & swiss, turkey & provolone, or maybe roast beef & pepper jack when I'm feeling saucy. I figure it costs me about $1.75 per sandwich, which is an astronomical increase in cost compared to PB&J. Sometimes I even go so far as to toast it in the toaster oven. I am definitely living high on the hog these days.
