Default Air filter in an enclosed box

From what I understand about N/A B18c5 motors, the most power an intake has made is from using a filter in an enclosed box, routed to the underside of the car (Mugen intake for ITR).

Think the same applies to a turbocharged engine?

(The board is moving really slow today. I might as well post a stupid question)
