Clutch Disengagement Height

Clutch Disengagement Height
On my 90 miata I just adjusted the clutch pedal freeplay within spec, and in the manual I have it says to check the disengagement height, so I did and it was almost 2 inches, but the spec is 2.68 or more. What does this mean?
