Default Dipstick blew out today ...

And I really really hope that its just a pcv valve that leaks under pressure because this happened after I got a little bit of pinging in the excruciating heat we are having around here. If I broke a ringland I would be pissed off and have to go buy some forged crap so it wouldnt happen again.

My vote is this means you where running to little boost and you need to turn up the HP. The motor was just saying comeon ***** step on it. GL man fwiw before mine blew i was getting a little smoke at 10+psi.

test your pcv valve with an air compressor, if it cant blow through then its probably the rings letting compression by. but in my experience, the dipstick blows out with a failed pcv.

I think its the PCV, I took it off and found that the little piston does not have the spring in there anymore and :( at the same time. Valve cover is coming off tomorrow to look for it, but i bet its in the pan by now waiting for my next oil change.
Ima gonna place an order for the 323gtx thingie, some new plugs n wires, and maybe a few other things from FM tomorrow. Thats what I have found them to be useful for.

tap them and put in a threaded plug. honestly though, its something i would do personally, but dont take my advice if you arent comfortable doing it.

i just clamped a peice of fuel hose to the port and stuck a bolt in there clamping that as well. This way if i choose to go back it is a simple procedure.

does it mess up the idle a bit to take out the PCV? Its adding air to the manifold so i would assume it would affect the idle right?

It shouldn't, all it does is recycle blowby back into the cylinder to be burned. Its just an emissions thing, which thinking about it now is something you probably want reversible. If anything it should improve performance marginally. A good baffled catch can is all you need, vented to the atmosphere.

ive got an apexi (or some other brand) catch can in the tool shed that I got for free from one of my buddies. Eventually I plan to plug it into the breather port and use the pre-turbo intake as a vacuum source for it. I may decide to completely block off the PVC, but not until I pass emmissions. I have two months to do so and after that its fair game for me for a few years ... probably fab me up a cat delete pipe at that point. As for PCV, if the 323 valve is pulling crap out of the valve cover to burn, Im ok with that as long as its not leaking in boost.

oh btw I am almost positive that my engine is fine and that the PCV got stuck for a second because it was a cheap pos thats only good for NA vehicles.
