Exclamation Wire Harness!

Ok im sure most of you are familiar with what a "wire tuck" is, if not do a quick google search. Well i've been looking to wire tuck my Miata to get a cleaner look and to get rid of unnessary wiring for a while now but have had no luck in finding a pre made harness to do so. All i've came across is harnesses for Hondas/Nissans and that got me thinking so I emailed one of the leaders in the wire harness industry Chase Bays, Inc - Welcome to Chase Bays specializing in Custom Wiring Harnesses and AN Fittings and heres what they told me

"Sam,

Honestly the best thing I can tell you is to get any of your friends who are into Miatas, whether they be personal or online buddies, to blow us up via e-mail. That's how we get a lot of the new products that we come out with. We view message boards, talk to people at shows, and see what the trends are and go from there. That's one of the reasons we got into the Supra and 2JZ harnesses, because of e-mails and questions about them. And now that is one of the most popular things we have going for us. And as far as not wanting a hack job for a wiring harness, I understand that completely. You wouldn't believe the amount of cores we receive that I can't believe came off of a running car. Twisted wires, electrical tape, metal clothes hangers, you name it! It's crazy, I couldn't imagine dealing with that mess. On another note, you plan on attending the summer IA meet?

Thanks!

Heres a better explanation of what I am talking about

The harness will cost between $500-$600.

Basically what I am asking is if you guys could do me a HUGE favor by emailing Chasbays regarding your interest in a harness for a Miata. This is not an Obligation to buy one! Its just to show them that there are people out there that are interested in a harness for the Miata chassis.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could take a few minutes to send out a quick email with the subject saying (MIATA HARNESS)

Copy this:

(Hello, I was wondering if you guys have or make harnesses for Mazda Miatas?

Thanks)

Include your name and zipcode in the email.

When you are done with that, I ask if you could reply to this thread with your first name and your zipcode as well.

Once again I greatly appreciate this and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Thank you,
Sam

The Miata shares chassis and engine harness into one loom, making it very difficult for someone like chase bays to make a "tuck harness". They would have to separate the two harnesses and supply a complete vehicle harness to be able to tuck all the wiring.

I agree with you. I have brought this point up with them and they assured me thats not a problem. They just said they dont recieve enough interest for a harness for the miata platform to start producing them. The research and development is not worth it to make just one harness. Thats why I am trying to gauge more interest.

Wouldn't the massive differences in wiring setups make this impossible?
Cops?
MS?
wb02?
sequential injectors?
...not to mention the year-to-year differences.
