Default I relocated my interior hood release latch

Wasn't too hard...since the interior isn't secure at all and I wanted to make it harder for thieves/vandals/etc to access under my hood for the turbo goodies, figured I would try to relocate the release lever. I didn't want to spend money on a hood lock (sometimes they are a real pain to install) or hood pins with locks so figured this was the next best thing-I didn't take pictures because it's fairly self explanatory once you get into it but figured I would post a few of my observations on here-also I won't say where I put it (for security reasons) but I basically have to reach under the car to release it.

So it's just a long steel and rubber encased cable that runs from the hood latch into the interior of the car-works on the same principle as a bike brake cable. So from under the hood, I unplugged the front airbag sensor and removed it because it was in the way of one of the bolts for the hood latch. Then I removed the three bolts holding the hood latch to the radiator support, pulled the assembly out of there so I could get to the end of the cable. Removed the end of the cable which has a little ball on the end so that it was out of the assembly. Now go into the car and you can remove the hood release lever by taking off the nut on the back-then pull the cable through the firewall into the interior of the car. the cable runs through some clips so you'll need to free the cable from these to fish it through. So now that you have the whole hood release and cable out all in one piece just figure out a place to remount it then run the cable back to the assembly and reinstall everything...depending on where you relocate it to, you might have too much length to the cable so just wrap it into a loop and zip tie it into place so that it still moves freely and doesn't "kink". Mine works great and only I know where it is, haha! I did spray paint the lever since it has a little white car with hood open on it just to make it a little less obvious in case someone sees it which would be hard because it's under the car now.
