I want to get a fatter steeringwheel now that I have a depowered rack.

I like the off-set of the stock wheel, but I don't know what offset it is, or what wheel to go with. I do not want the wheel any closer to my perfect body, preferably a little further away. However, I don't want to hit the blinker/wiper sticks.

Does anyone have comments on those issues for either wheel:

Also, any issues with running the ultra-cheap $7 ebay hub adapter?

Only thing I've *heard* about the ebay adapters is that they lack the crumple zone designed into the genuine article. I don't know the validity of that though.

Hustler,there is no way in hell I would trust a $7 ebay hub adapter.

Last thing you want is the cheap ebay hub stripping it's splines and losing total control of your car on a track day and plowing into a wall or gaurdrail.

The bottom steering wheel is a "rally" style wheel,it's designed to be closer towards your perfect body.

The best thing to do is go to a shop and check out steering wheels first hand.

i would think that a wheel with a 0 offset or fairly close to it would be the best bet. The ones with a dish and high offset will be way closer to you, since the adapter alone will push a flat steering wheel to close to where the stock one would be.

the adpater will push the steering wheel out far enough that a shallow wheel will not cause any issues. I am currently running a cheap-o adapter and an old momo shallow wheel without any issues.

With my Momo wheel and adapter I hit the stalks from time to time, when others drive the car they hit them constantly. I might get a spacer someday, or try a dished wheel.

Its slightly closer than stock, but with my seat so low and back i love it.

oh, and i never hit the blinkers or wipers on accident. However it takes a bit to get used to the distance to the blinkers now.

I just put this 350mm (alittle smaller than stock, I wouldent want to go smaller personally) momo wheel in with a 7$ ebay adapter


The ebay adapter does look stronger than then momo adapter, in a bad way (wont crumple as easily). I just dident have the $$ for a momo one, so whatever.

The ebay adapter worked perfect tho, no modification to the clock spring is necessary.


Id say a shallow wheel with just an adaptor is about as far away from you as the stock wheel



Im so happy I got (well my girlfriend did ) the wheel, its much more pleasurable than the stock one!

remember the stock wheel has major dish on it....if you get a 0mm offset wheel and a bulky adapter, it may put it in the same spot.

spend the cash on a good adapter, the ebay one is a joke...I'm pretty sure it's zinc.

with the stock wheel, by big, strong but soft hands are close to the sticks, but don't usually hit. Think of the ghost scene, but with a more attractive man and a car instead of clay...and your girlfriend instead of Demi.

With 0 dish and no adapter, the wheel is ever so slightly further away. Just enough to put your knuckles in accidental-wipers-on range.

Running a fleabay wheel & adapter...(just wanted something for now)

Too flimsy but works....I personally wouldnt want it any closer, but no track time/race seat/harness for me, so take that into account since you mention tracking the car
