Default engine cuts out at about 3500rpm

So I installed a used JDM motor, idles great, seems to run fine, but when I step on the gas WOT it stalls at about 3300-3500rpm, throws a check engine for a split second, then the engine keeps going after that. Also, I tried to set base idle but i had to close the set screw all the way to get it down to 900 rpms with ground/TEN jumped and engine warmed up all accessories off. Any and all help appreciated! New plugs/wires, coil pack from previous engine worked great as well.

check your TPS. Make sure it is calibrated properly. Any manual should give you a resistance range on the pins for idle and WOT.

doesn't store a code; this happens only under load. I actually was able to dial in the idle better and the idle screw isn't all the way in anymore, and the car runs better now, but still has the same problem.
