Here's a teaser ... I'll get better pics tomorrow. It has an internal ramp into an RX7 oil cooler and the radiator and also has a plate behind the bottom radiator tank. I don't have it on currently because the oil cooler isn't on yet.

It's adjustable, forward and aft. It doesn't protrude to the edges because I want to have easier access to the oil filter (in front of the passenger front tire) and the intercooler pipe couplings in case I have a pipe blow off.

And here's how the oil cooler sits with respect to the plate. The blockoff plate goes in front of the radiator tank, not behind. My mistake.

What's the reason for the blockoff plate? Isn't that restricting the air flow through the cooler and or radiator?

it's to keep air from escaping underneath the radiator. The oil cooler actually sits up about 2 inches above the plate, just above the ramp. The radiator core sits above 4 inches above the plate, just below the top of the block off plate.

Though it's bad for weight, I like the idea of a relatively thick metal plate to guard from foreign objects.

block off plate = stupid idea. not only is it gonna restrict flow THROUGH the intercooler, radiator, and oil cooler and it's also gonna stop air from flowing down past that trans which is useful in helping cool it. And what the **** is that thing made of? 1/8" steel? Looks heavy as hell. Belongs on a 4Runner.
