has anyone ever thought about building ducting to go out the undertray, or bottom of the car? I've thought about making a big fiberglass shroud and pointing it out down, with a lip in front to hopefully create a pressure differential. I don't know what the venturi effect does or if its even active under the car with the stock tray in place. It sure would look better than a big hood vent.

Hustler -

Use the link Atlanta93LE posted ( http://www.wardsweb.org/cars/miata_e...r.html#louvers ) to see the step-by-step Luther used to make the mod. Without the drip trays, they tend to bleed fairly well. - The car is N/A, but heat management is still an issue in So. Texas...

The vents are a combination of rubber door edge trim from the local car parts store, and eBay aluminum mesh grill sheets cut to slightly larger than opening sizes. The openings were cut using a specialized punch type sheetmetal cutting tool and a jigsaw.

Once Brad puts his hood on...same as above...I'll steal his stock hood and do the CF vent like this one:

I guess I'm going to wing it with the begi scoop first, and see where that leaves me. The supercharged cars out here do fine at 250whp with the PWR radiator and no other venting.

they don't have a red hot turbine housing under the hood either
I drove mine home in evening rush hour traffic and kept myself amused by watching the heat waves coming off the hood distorting the cars in front.

****...more work. I guess I need to pick up a hood. I'll be fine in the winter though, right? I don't drive the car in traffic.

I'm interested in the fender flares and front body parts. Was that stuff custom or purchased somewhere?

I'm going to vent over the turbo, then do the extraction vent behind the radiator.

Almost makes it look like a 944. I think it's badass looking.
