Default V-Mount or conventional IC placement?

I have a lot of room to work with and trying to decide intercooler placement.

If I keep the radiator upright I have tons of room to place the IC in front of the radiator and can duct as needed. The bar at the bottom is inside of the grille so all of that real estate is available.

If I lean it back I have lots of room to V-Mount it but I am guessing on location/angle/placement of the IC. If I use an IC with top mounted outlets it will be a straight shot from the turbo to the IC and to the TB. I have at least 6" above the radiator to the hood. It will also be pretty easy to seal and duct both.

So, conventional or V-mount and why? If V-mount any suggestions on angles, etc?

V mounts are not common in the miata world because we are lapping with supercars with conventional mouth placed ebay intercoolers.

Id go a V mount for the benefits you have listed, on a miata there is a bit of engineering to be done to do a V mount and its probably not worth it.

Personally, I'mm too busy trying to figure out what the hell kind of vehicle that engine is in to proffer an opinion on something as trivial as intercooler placement.
