According to the parts manual there was an AWD and all wheel steering version as well.

The 323GT-R got most of its upgrades from the jdm/euro-only AWD/AWS 626.

can handle up to ~600hp, then the center diff starts throwing a hissy fit.

Take a look at the distributer, see if it needs a rebuild, preventative maintenance on this item is crucial as they are prone to failure and really f*ck **** up when they do fail. There's a good guide here: http://kgm.tiwing.com/88maz323gtx/

I was going to list useful sites but it appears this one is the last one standing, RIP Mazda323Performance.com :'(

Depending on how much I get into this car, I may want that GT4 swap in the future. Sounds worth it.

Ugh. I kind of dont want to **** with the distributor because I plan on upgrading to megasquirt with a miata CAS in the near future. I guess i'll either make up my mind to do the megasquirt sooner than later or fix the distributor.

mazda323performance.com seems to have merged into clubprotege.com.

Yeah, I'm active there, but the information on m323p was massive, comes close to that of the Yahoo group, which is also slowly merging to CP.

165hp/152trq with boost creeping to 14psi.

On an AWD Mustang dyno!

Woot!

Dang, I was hoping you'd get 175 or so! I'm curious what my GTX will put down when I finish this motor. I'm using Miata pistons so I figure thats good for about 10% more or so?

My GTX is sitting in the driveway, with no engine or trans, covered in snow :( I have to drive the shitty Integra to get around in the snow right now. I want my GTX done! This is what I bought it for!

Remember though, it is like 184ish on a dynojet.... And I still plan to raise the boost some more.

My friends brother had a 323GTX back in the day. I remember he turned the boost up and put an intake on it and it would run with my dads 93 twin turbo RX7 till about 80 or so. Then the areo kicked in and the RX would start to pull away.

175-180ish is my goal once I get mine back together. I really dont want to go beyond that with the glass transmission.

Most likely going to sell the gtx, would come with an entire spare drivetrain and the rare Dirta shocks.

Would allow me more Miotta budget and remove thoughts of more projects. I really only need one fun car.
