Could you take off an 1/8"-1/4" from the mounts for the fans on the rad to get more clearnace for a bigger sway bar?

The FM Bar is 7/8", the RB solid is 15/16". I think the Jackson bar is also 7/8".

With the big 1 1/8" RB hollow bar I think there might be some fit issues, being able to get the fans closer to the rad would help.

The guys with the bigger sway could get away with just notching their fans i bet.

I have the 1" FM bar for the 94-97 Miatas in my car and these is still a small gap between the fans and the bar. You might be able to shave the fan mounts down a little but id be very cafeful because if you go to far then you will be screwed. Best bet is to get one of those slim fans off of ebay if you need more space.

Looks like there is a fair amount of aluminum on the mount to remove, would also remove the need to add in weather stripping.

Guess I won't know until I get it here.

I've had the fans on the car for half a year now. Still work like the day I got them. Its pretty hard to **** up the design of an electric fan...

It's not the fan design that people are concerned about, it's the build quality of the electric motor.

so whats the deal with the stock fans? Do they not move enough air, physically too large, or both?

I'm suprised at how much extra room those slim fans give you. How do they mount up? Any kind of surround DIY'd?
