I was all set on buying a PWR, but then I did a quick search before hitting the buy button and came across the CoolRadiators.com stuff for $120 less. I know several members here have the radiators, so my two big questions are:

-Whether anyone's actually had cooling problems with them, and the conditions around those problems. I'm shooting for 220rwhp with a big intercooler in front of the rad, and I don't want to be dicking around with cooling problems on a hot track day.

-Fitment. I've never heard of any issues, but do the stock fans bolt up reasonably easily, do they hit anything, does it interfere with big front sway bars, etc.?

1. yes, but I wasn't using my dustpan, reinstalled with a scooper I've never had a problem. But this only showed up first at a substained +110mph.

2. no problems.

Goodwin doesn't like the PWR, but TDR likes it better than the Koyo. It's clearly a personal deal. I was leaning towards the PWR because I've heard of issues with an intercooler in front of a 37mm Koyo, but it looks like the 1" AL is the way to go. All the more money to spend on the turbo setup.

From what I have heard the 37 mm fits fine it is the 55 mm that has issues.

****, now I really need some advice. Apparently they aren't making the 1" anymore. He offered the 2 1/16" at a discount, so I may go with that. It's the same size as the big Koyo IIRC, so I may see some interference issues. Any thoughts?

What kind of discount? I just ordered the 2 1/16" radiator. As far as fitment, I've read that the interference is between the plastic fan shroud and the swaybar.

edit: Just got off the phone with them. He said there may or may not be interference with the swaybar, not all cars have the problem.

Instead of $330 shipped I'm getting it for $311. Still a damn good deal for a radiator the size (and apparently quality) of a 55mm Koyo. I think I'm going to do it since he said I can return it if it doesn't fit.

correct 1" all-aluminum for $259.

fit without a hitch, it's been tracked thrice. first i had no undertray & 50:50 mix and it would over heat when i hit +100mph on the straights.

2nd & 3rd times, installed undertray, 70:30 mix, a touch of wetter, and burped system, no problems reaching speeds of 135mph.

Update. The radiator is in, and it's HUGE. Making it fit without using expensive slim fans requires serious trimming of the fan shrouds, and I still cracked one putting it in. The upper radiator hose will need some sort of buffer underneath it so it doesn't rub on the fan shrouds, and I still don't know how I'm going to get the intake back in there.

But it's in.
