does anyone have any really good articles on exhaust design for na and fi cars?

itd be nice to have this on this forum for somthing for people on here to go to, to get everything straight. i hear on na cars you want backpressure but backpresure is bad. and then on turbo cars you want none at all, but dont go too big on your exhaust? both of these statments are contradictory and this makes no sense.

personally to me it seems that the perfect exhaust would be one sized for the size/hp of the engine and with the least amount of resonation and restriction.

to me it would seem youd want a pipe small enough to keep the velocity of the exhaust up without making it hard to push out. a fine line between to the two. and maybe go a tiny bit smaller or larger to move your power band. but in no way would backpressure help an na or turbo car. seems to me people use backpressure and velocity interchangably.

cliff notes... i just think that backpressure is bad on any car and what you need to aim for is high velocity without causing restriction.

if anyones got some insight on the real deal or some articles thatd be awsome. thx!
