Default '91 MX5 at the junkyard...worth any time?

I was at the local U-Pull It today and I saw a '91 silverstone in there with a complete 1.6 liter, 5 speed and rear. The valve cover was removed for some reason, but it's there. The CAS might not be, otherwise it looks like everything else is intact. Is this worth pulling engine, trans, rear? I don't need it, but perhaps someone else on here might need some parts? The body looked pretty hammered, but the hood was good, (needs repaint).

I'm talking me pulling parts, cause I won't be able to buy the whole car. What would a 1.6 engine/ trans/ rear be worth?

What's the dash worth to ya? I used to work at that junkyard, and when I did, I could've got the engine, trans, rear, for like $50 for all. I don't work there anymore, so now I'd have to pay what everyone else would pay.

Pull the entire drivetrain, wiring and ECU. Build (or buy) a locost frame. Install components.

Drive like hell, get bugs in teeth.

Typical asking prices from what I've seen:
Engine: $400
Trans: $200
Rear End: $300 (VLSD)

Lol! That's what my Triumph Bonneville is for!

I think the junkyard prices are, $125 pulled for a motor, $80 pulled for a tranny, and the rear...$50??

rear finish panel
soft top window

Those are easy items to pull and make moneys on. i wouldn't bother with an engine. did you check if it's long-nose crank?

Only the top frame is there...no window. No idea if long nosed, don't really care about 1.6 shiz.

91 could be either. If you really care to check it's easy from the crank pulley: http://www.miata.net/garage/crankshaft.html

I have had good luck selling transmissions. Even if you don't plan to sell a spare is nice to have if you have a boosted motor.

Also, if the diff is a VLSD SCCA autocross guys need spares for STS.
