Default ok so i need some help

hey guys as some of you may have read i installed a newish motor into my car (50k miles on it) its a 1.6L. I ran into a misfiring problem but put a diff coil pack on it and its running good now.

Here's my problem, I'm only getting 8 miles per gallon, yea thats right, 8mpg, i basically have an empty tank with 76 miles on the trip odometer, and no i didn't forget to reset it.

Now so far all i have done to this motor is a obx header and the exhaust that i'm using for when i go turbo next month, its 3", also i have an FM Link with a MAP sensor to replace my AFM/MAF.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated, OR if anyone in NJ/NY/ or Phili area knows how to Tune the FM Link t would be awesome of you to come out and gimme a hand, I have the instructions but I'm not the best at reading/comprehending them (slight dyslexia and ADD are a bad combo).
If anyone wants/ would come to me to help ill give ya gas money and dinner and a couple drinks, i just cant drive my car like this cause i drive 30miles to work a day, I'd need to fill my car once a day and i can't afford $25.00 a day for 5 days a week

Sounds to me like you are running WAY too rich. Do you have a wideband on there to see your afrs? Running too rich would cause you to experience misfires. Is your car smoking out the back black at all, or does the exhaust smell like gas?

no wideband yet, doing a 4 wire o2 same day as the turbo goes in,

the really strange thing is, no black smoke at all, i smell a little hint of gas but i think its just from the exhaust leak.

another thing is the motor feels very strong, no stutter, or anything and the new coil pack got rid of the misfire

Well you need a wideband to tune the motor on the link, thats a different issue though. 8mpg is pretty damn bad, but its impossible to say if you are running too rich without you hooking up a wb. Order an lc1 , they are only like $180.

That thing would about have to be leaking fuel to be that bad. If it were burning that much fuel, it either wouldn't run or would run terribly and blacksmoke. You could pull the plugs and have a look to see if they are heavily fouled out or something. You say it runs good, so I'm really not sure what could cause such terrible gas mileage, assuming your odometer is working and all.

did you ever check your timing? i remember there was some discussion of that either on this forum or the Mob. I'll throw my timing light in the trunk just in case.

Did you change your injectors or have the link setup properly for injector size, if it has the capability.

Did you do anything with the fuel pump? Are you sure your tank is low? Perhaps there is a problem with the guage or the sender.

you more than likely have a gas leak...check your fuel feed and return and alse your O rings on the injectors...im willing to bet its a gas leak
