Hmm....

Guy here worked on the LG Motorsports C6R Vette...does that count? We have built a few race cars, rally cars, etc.

The only thing you should be doing on the track is making small adjustments for humidity and temperature. 99.9% of the tune is done on a dyno, both engine and wheel/hub dynos. Then you make SMALL adjustments to get a tad bit more under the current conditions at the track. Most teams also have atrained and experienced tuner, not just a mechanic playing with the numbers.

I have about 60-hours of track time, this is my 3rd car I've bolted together in the back-yard...but never one like this. I deserve no respect for bolting the car together...I revere the engineers and fabricators who did the work, I just followed directions and advice.

My car is far from raggady. Most people who see it comment on how ******* perfect the car is. I mean ****, I only bought the best of the best, every wire is soldered with loom, every clamp is stainless, every gauge is special-ordered Omori, matching everything, 3 sets of 6ULs in my possession, every bolt is anodized, and it should be considering I now have $20k in a miata. I don't give a **** if your Buick was made this decade, my **** is cleaner, faster, lighter, and did I mention faster?

Your detonation statement is inaccurate. I could hear slight detonation with headphones, that I could not hear in the car...and my ears are really ******* big, like my genitals. Ask your ***** girlfriend who my buddies and I "trained" last weekend. This was after I returned from another classified mission to "neutralize" some issues in the Pacific Rim, so I suggest you NEVER type to me in caps again because its rude and I take respect seriously. Final warning.

p.s. thanks for the advice on my sister's msm. She did the 2.5", gained lots of power, and 1k rpm earlier spool.

Actually I had shoes, but sometimes they had holes in them. I did walk to school, but it was only 4 miles and only from grades 1-3. Pants were hand me down from cousins because I didn't have any brothers...oh, and they closed the schools when it snowed. WTF does that have to do with anything you ******* idiot.

After all these pages of insults you ******* idiots still miss the point, close is OK for some people. No one argues that dynos are a great tool. If for no other reasons it give you information to analyze, store and manipulate. But you are so hell bent on arguing and calling an MSM owner a moron, you missed all that.

incidentally, when you come here to argue for your whole forum, it doesn't matter if only you said something. everything in that thread is what "you said" if you're gonna come here and debate them vs. us.

i recall mr four Q's and 3 Atoms said he tunes on the track.

We have the dyno. Look at my chart. I made more power than you. My car is faster because the dyno never lies. I will be the bullet that everyone want to beat.

Dynos are for breaking in engines, and giving you a good base tune.

The best final tuning is done track side. Ask any racer.
a base tune. I think he's confusing a dyno with the bass mekanik.

It's not us vs them, its "why are you calling someone a moron because they don't feel the need for the preciseness of a dyno tune” but idiots want to argue that you cannot tune without one. I agree in whole that a precise tune is best done with a dyno, But everyone does not need that amount of precision. Ans some bullshit mentality of everything they said is what I said is pretty damn ludicrous. I frequent a lot of boards, both domestic and imports. Everyone of the has idiots on them. How the hell am I suppose to be held accountable for the comments made by people who reside somewhere in this country and I never met them? Some of you take this interne community shot way to serious. So what he tunes on the track, I know guys at the drag strip that tune at the track. I don’t know what it’s so hard for you ******* geniuses to understand people tune at the track. I don’t because I suck at tuning, but plenty of people are very proficient at it. I guess because you don’t that means nobody else does.

How did I know that this thread would degenerate into this as soon as an insecure MSM owner saw it?

(notice - I did not say all MSM owners are insecure, before someone reads that wrong)

Why would I be insecure? I only own one miata, never thought I ever would, I always thought they were girly cars. Anyone driving a miata should not be insecure, if I was I wouldn't own a miata. I don't think a miata is the super car of the world like many of you. It's just a cool little car to have some fun with from time to time. I own several other cars.

I think hustler made it pretty damn clear. you can't distinguish between power levels and you can't hear knock. we're talking about tuning the engine only here. not shock adjustments. not tire pressures.

engine management.

let me call *LARGE CAR MANUFACTURER NAME* and see which track they use to fine tune their engines....

the funny part about that thread is that QQQQ got all defensive when I made a jab at newbsauce and the other miataturbo guys for their shitty street tuning skills. I street tune all the time. I took datalogs to and from work tonight and changed my fuel and spark maps at work for the drive home. i'm a ******* miracle worker without a dyno, but I'm still going to use the dyno to verify that my changes had a positive impact.

**** man, you can't rejet a 67 camaro double pumper based on the lope of the god damn idle and expect it to be optimum. no matter what drag strip you are at. even if you manage to optimize your ET, how do you know you dont have a big flat spot somewhere? are you getting a constant stream of ETs for every foot of those 1320? I commend the dude with the datalog system that has that feature. maybe some guy with 3 atoms and a miata has that. he's got everything else (or so we are supposed to envy).

my point in my post was to let you know that you are not the source of our exasperation for that thread. but you come here and defend it. hence you represent that thread and everyone you agree with there.

I have to wonder... when you guys compare dicks, do you just type out how long it looks and corroborate it with "well it sticks out pretty far past my hand and I think I have pretty big hands" instead of putting it on a ruler?
