Alright, I've been to 6 auto parts and hardware stores and NONE of them have these damn 3/8" NPT by 5/16" barbed 90 degree fittings...all I could find are the straight fittings...also, only one of the stores I went to have 5/16" fuel line, but I don't think it's for fuel injection systems because it only cost $1.20/ft...so here's the deal, I don't want to rig up something that's going to cause me problems/burn my car...how else can I hook this up? I've seen pictures of some people that have steel braided lines with blue or red ends on them-basically same as what I've seen used for turbo oil lines-which I also need to get...can anyone tell me the correct way to hook up the fuel rail using these braided lines? I know I have to go to a hydraulics store of some kind, but I don't know what to ask for or how the lines would connect into the fuel line itself. Thanks!

Makes you wonder why M-tuned sells these rails but not the fittings to use them....

Sucks, but you bascially have to piece it together. Lowes will have a 3/8 NPT elbow. screw that into the rail and you have the 90*. Now screw a 3/8 NPB to 5/16 barb fitting into that.

Your best bet to do this right, IMO, is to call Summit Racing. Figure out exactly what you need, and call them. You tell them "I need a fitting that's a 90* bend, 3/8 NPT male on one end, 5/16 to AN hose" and in about 5 seconds they'll say "3.99, how many do you want?". Seriously, there awesome.

I did not have the time to get everything together, plus we were trying to come up with a similar rail to the TunerToys 1.6 Rail but for a 1.8.

I normally recommend a local Hydraulic fitting store. I have about 20 of them within a 1 hour drive of me. I am going to put together a fitting kit over the winter months.

This is 1 suggestion I would do and have done for a budget friend suggestion.

2 X 3/8npt Male to 90 3/8" Hose Barb (One for each end)
2-3 Feet of 3/8" Fuel Injection Hose (NAPA should have this)
Brass Tee fitting with 3/8 Barb in 2 Ends and 5/16" Barb in another to go to stock feed line.

Or you can put get 1/4npt to 5/16 Barbs and use a 3/8" to 1/4"npt reducer on each end.

My personal car has all Earl's -6 Fittings with Stainless Braided line.

Many ways to do it... 3/8Npt allows for many options, even -8 for some big power folks.

I connected mine using straight barbs and it worked like a champ. I was concerned that the elbows wouldn't get tight enough not to leak and still point the way I wanted them to.

Scott, it would be awesome if you had your location in your profile... that way anybody who knew of a place local to you could suggest a place you might find the correct fittings. Any rubber/hydraulic store will have what you need. There's usually a section in the YellowPages like that. If you have a local Fastenal store, they probably don't have fittings like that, but call them and they'll know of a place they refer people to.
