Indicated 120mph, probably closer to 115mph. 7000rpm indicated in 4th, shift to 5th, and a few seconds on the gas in 5th. I haven't found the road and the situation where I've felt comfortable pushing past 120 yet, although last night was pretty close (empty 3-lane bridge with concrete walls on both sides).

The car gets there quick. It's just a nice, smooth pull all the way to redline in 4th. I bet it would pull decently hard in 5th, I've just never tried.

Preturbo, indicated 117mph downhill with the top down

Not my driving, 140mph+ riding shotgun in a Stage 2 STI

Sigh. Gearing is one of those things I've ALWAYS wanted to do to the car. It's SO LOW. The number of times I've done freeway pulls with Big Gun cars, and had to back out when I'm lengths ahead at 130 because I'm hitting the redline is... high.

Of course, with getting rid of the piggy link, meaning the rev limiter is a real rev limiter (not just losing some percentage of my fuel suddenly) means at least I can take it there without worry.

I've got the 3.6 gears in a box, but I want to get a 6 speed. Of course, then I'll still have a top speed of like 142, but that's a lot better - and probably as fast as I want to go in anything with so many wheels?

As far as I'm concerned, if I am anything more than a length ahead at 100+, I've won. The race ends when the winner lifts.

I take exception to that one Abe. I've hit 135-140 on mine mostly stock the front end gets pretty light past 115 though. You must have been riding a v40-45 wich are heavy turds jump on a well prepped v30 like mine or a good v65 and you will surely be able to tell the difference.

Yeah - I feel that way too. But somehow, when I try to convince myself of that, especially when there's plenty left in the motor and the other guy (for some reason) stays in it hitting 150 after catching up to my brakelights... I feel like a *****.

Er does the 1984 help? It was either a 45 or a 65, but there was a 5 in it. Man, I hated that bike. It looked ok, sounded... just barely ok. My dad "upgraded" some forward set controls on it, which was even more terrible, having your feet up by the front.

I guess I was just too used to, you know, 1960's bikes which were well engineered. Ha.

Oh, I will say one thing - the ONLY bike to ever keep up with me on this really twist, 100+ mph 6 mile road on the way home is a late 80's (early 90's?) yamaha virgo 1100 which this old guy with a big grey beard KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE. It's amazing. Your average R6 doesn't give me any trouble, and the litre bikes admitedly are a handful but generally don't hang in the turns. But this guy is amazing. It's unrealistic, like watching a harley in a videogame. Just doesn't look right.

Oh, I forgot another one. My friend's Dodge Omni GLH turbo. At around 150, the antena, which had been bending and bending, snapped off. Another time on my kawi I got going so fast a side panel blew off. :-)

That is referred to as a "ricer fly-by" where I come from.

145mph indicated by my Garmin in my Miata.

165-170?+ mph riding in a friend's RX7. In south GA, there are stretches of freeway that are straight, flat, and empty.

~550mph while flight training in a Citation X.

140 in my Miata preturbo. That was on 95 in MD between 495 and 695. Long straight road. It took about 3 minutes to get up there :P. 130mph postturbo. The car has lots of upforce at those speeds :(. 120mph in my 1985 benz 300D turbo. Took about 10 minutes to get up there :(. 150mph in a 99 Nissan Altima GXE. Set the cruise at 140mph for 3 hours until I almost hit a coyote. 125mph in a 94 mustang gt convertible for 4 hours on 95 VA to MA. Top down that was it's top speed. I wasn't driving that time tho.

My bike is a 1984 V30 vf500c. I think your was most likely a 40 or 45 like i said if it was a v65 something is very wrong i have seen test data that shows that bike to be a low 11 sec bike i have even heard reports of people hitting low 10's on it with the right rider. Hell my 500 can run a high mid 11 with my big 220+ lbs *** on it.

110 in a 3/4 ton Chevy Express van... 11 seater... ECU cuts fuel at 100 but the tires were 10 percent larger. Talk about scary...

I haven't gone over 100 in the Miata.

120 in the Miata... 150mph in a 350z. I love the way the Miata drives because it reminds me of the Z in some ways (and in many it is better), but I just wish the Miata could do those kinds of speeds and be stable. In the Z it just felt like 80 or 90.

I raced a turbo civic si on the highway from 80-130 (he shifted, i kept it in 5th and i walked him like he was standing still... it pulls hard in 5th, or at least mine does. in a straight line no downhill...
I have a test where i live, its a huge hill you climb, i round the corner at 50 and then hit the gas... every car ive driven up it climbs to about 85-90 and then loses speed... i took my miata up it and hit 100 before it started to ireally get steep, and it just walked right up it still gaining speed... zo6 made it up at 97mph(fastest and then fell off) miata pulled to 115 and then i had to lift, otherwise it would be somewhere in the woods in another town.
