Default Best deal on 205/50/15's?

Starting to search for tires so I can get off these daisy's and on to my Pro Race 1's. So far, the best deal I can find is the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 at the Tire Rack.

Dunlop Direzza DZ101

$64 each, with a $50 mail in rebate (which will basically knock out the shipping), so $256 for a set.

I don't need the best of the best, just a decent performance tire...anyone know of a better deal?

Pretty happy with the Nitto Neo Gen's I got a month or two ago. Bought them here...

NittoŽ Neo GenŽ

Plenty of people here have liked them. Consumer Reports liked em a couple years ago. Grassroots Motorsports likes em too.

Sounds like a great buy Mark. A lot cheaper than the $$ I just dropped on a set of 225/45 NT01s and 225/50 RA1s from onlinetires.com I tried to find rebates, but not on those unless I was competive - for the RA1s anyway. You'll have to give them a good heat cycle driving over here at the end of the month... PBOC is at Barbers... you can be too as soon as you get that bar in! Beside, I need another miata to beat up on!

Cheapest shipping is $50ish bucks which puts them basically the same price as the DZ101's.....hmmm.

Hehe...I'm still fussing with the damned soft top install. I hate, hate, hate nit picky installs like this...fabric and strings and cables and rivets. Hope to be done with it tonight. Roll bar is next, bought my rust-proofing primer and some low glass black the other day.

Those dunlops he's looking at are street tires. No heat cycling. Just lots of squirm and wear hitting the track with them new!

Ugh...that's a nice deal but there's no way I'm messing around with signing up for a credit card then canceling it afterward. Too much hassle. Still, that's $256 delivered, that's not bad.

I really like the NeoGens on the street. I'll buy several more sets. They last a long time and that's what I want in a street tire.

Eehh, I knew that... it sounded good to get him this way anyway! ****, if I could get R compounds for $65 I'd be all over them (new that is). I'd let him borrow some RSS's I have that have a track day or two left in them... will save him from killing his street tires. Mark, you can run on the V710s I have but you'd have to be quick at the wheel b/c they don't give you warning when they're coming out from under you, and I don't think your wife would appreciate your date with the guard rail...

I'm on my 2nd set of DZ101's. They really suck in the rain. Other than that for the price they're good.

I rarely drive the turbo car in the rain but it has significantly more grip in the wet than my Kumho XS daily driver rubbers. I've driven the NeoGens on the track in the wet too and had lots of confidence.
