Tachometer powered but no response

Tachometer powered but no response
I have a 93 Miata, all stock aside from supercharger with powercard setup. I have stock gauges aside form AEM AFR gauge.
Car is used solely as a racecar. All of my gauges were functioning just fine before I decided to have a cage put in it. However, after I got it back and was putting the dash in, I've found that the tach doesn't work. I have oil pressure, engine temp and fuel level. MPH is fine and cable is good there. but no tach.
When the ignition is on the tach does go from rock bottom to the 0, but after turning the car on it doesn't move.
I did some research on forums before posting and found solutions like:
-checking fuse panel under dash. All good there
-Ground wire in engine bay below master cylinder is ok.
-I tried putting a resistor on IG- and B+ but that didn't change anything
I'm not awesome at electrical stuff, but I can test, check, etc whatever anyone suggests.
I would be totally down to wire in a replacement one but read another guy had similar issues to me and tried that but that didn't solve his issue. So I didn't want to go overboard chasing this issue. But for me, I don't care how it works, I did need something that works ASAP!
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
