Put it in lastnight and noticed a 20* difference in cruising CLT's this morning.

I used these to attach it.






I suck at cutting but it didn't matter here. FYI, you do have to cut away at the white bumper support. No pic of that, sorry.


Cut all those clips off.

To me that really kills the looks, but the functionality has to be great. I imagine it would look better on a black car.

I really liked your car before, now I'm not so sure. The one on the hood always looked like it belonged there, the tumor on the nose not so much.

I gotta say that it looks a lot better than other solutions I've seen. And sticking it in with something other than screws with some paint would improve it dramatically too. That said, the way it looks now, I think you should go shopping for some flares now... and then some giant tires and more offset. Besides additional rad flow, think of the potential for oil cooler flow! Very cool.

Thanks for the pictures! I have been pondering this one myself to help cool my IC setup. I'll bet if one attached it to the back of the nose, rounded the transition from the nose to the scoop (like the stock inlet below) and painted it to match, it would look great.

I agree, this looks better than the other nose cuts i have seen so far.

Where did you get the scoop and how much was it? Looks like an oil cooler would fit nicely right behind it. I wonder if my 2nd gen rx-7 oil cooler will fit...it's fairly large.

I'm going to have to do this, but I think I'll try what ZX said and attach it to the back of the bumper cover.

I got my scooper on eBay for $25 delivered. The rx7 cooler is WAY bigger than the outlet on that scooper. BUT with that location you wouldn't need a cooler that big IMO.

Hey levnubhin got a question. Based on what you reported it looks like it cannot go any lower without cutting further into the bumper. What about raising it a bit higher? Is there anything significant that gets in the way?

Ebay for $40 shipped, mounting from the back can be done but you hade better be good at cutting.


I didn't put it any higher because of the top bunper support. It would have blocked the air flow.

I put double sided tape to hold it in place but the tape wasn't sticky enough. I need to remove the tape because its holding it away from the bumper in some spots. It's not real noticable but it bothers me.

Nahh, whan you paint the car we can probably mount it to the back of the bumper and then you can mold it in.

For now, it's doing it's job.

That seems to be the best idea. I see the function and the look isnt horrible, molded in would make a huge difference and probably wouldnt take a whole lot of work.
