Default Sudden Loss of Power

I'll do the best I can to explain this very recent problem that has been troubling me since this morning.

This morning on my ride back from Richmond (1.5 hr drive), my car kinda jerked on me during the exit ramp like it was running out of gas but only did it VERY quickly so that i didnt notice what happened.

Then 2 minutes later it did it again. I saw my check engine light go off (which has been on since i bought the car) and my radio cut off, and suddenly i lost power to the car and it started jerking. 2 seconds later it went back to normal.

I pulled into a walmart parking lot. checked my fluids and any hose connections and everything looks fine.

It has done it to me 5 times today.....power goes off, and starts to stall/jerk then cuts back on.

i'm not sure if i have any water in the fuel maybe (it has been raining and very damp and foggy)

or maybe fuel pump going bad?

only recent modification i have done to the car is put new exhaust on it 2 days ago, but i doubt the exhaust sensor would make my car power cut off if something was wrong.

HELP ME!

i should change the thread title to "LUCKY MY CAR DIDNT BURN IN FLAMES"

you were close levnubhin. i knew it wasnt a loose connection on the battery as i just made sure they were tight a week ago while cleaning out my car.

BUT i did just check anyways, and the battery holder bar that goes over top of it had come out of place and was hitting the positive terminal causing MAJOR sparkage and i still have the cloth battery cover too.

so lucky i didnt see flames on the interstate. should i just take out the bar and not worry about it again and let the battery slide back and forth....or leave it in temporarily until i can find a cage for the battery?

Cant you just re-align the bar and tighten it back down? Or is something missing/broken?
