it sucks man. I've been through this before on a custom car...and I've also had a 2.9l t3/t04e with a haltech e6k, quife 6-speed, bbs rs301 equipped dusty mauve corrado disappear on a flat bed according to my neighbors.
Step one is to get an insurance adjuster out. If they total it, offer to buy it back at salvage value. If you need help with this, contact me...daddy is in the auto salvage biz.
Then gut the car.
Buy another, and stuff everything in.
Don't sweat the investigators, they always send people out for **** like that. Also, get smart on the value for your area. Check your policy and see if they offer "fair market value" or "replacement cost." Get the black book value on the car, and discuss reality of replacement on these cars...because its not consistent with kbb values they will throw at you.

there is a miata here in the atlanta area that the guy is selling for 2800 plus extras... needs body work and is at 173kmiles... it runs like new! no lifter tick, no leaks, and is in good operable condition! i know, i drove it! only thing to get used to is the welded open diff he has. on turns, the rear wheels grab like ur gonna peel out, but thats just cause both tires are spinning forreals! well, if you have any questions about that miata, pm me...

Ouch, thats such a tough blow man. I was sort of wondering what happened with that. Good luck with the sale, I hope you can get what you are asking for, youve got some good parts on there like the Link, the full Greddy kit, Intercooler kit for the greddy, the roll bar, 1.8 rear with RX7 diff, etc. My Red car could use a paintjob and I really liked how yours turned out, so there may be a clone of yours rolling around cali someday
