Just got back from a photoshoot...

It doesn't hurt that you are using photoshop to make the darks as vibrant and dark as you want.
Also, compositionally you need to crop in a lot of the photos, and actually I'd say the ones with the statue are actually really "weak". The environment has too much going on, and too much focused on the statue, the car becomes secondary. The low light settings to actually be able to make out the car end up only aiding the emphasis on the already well lit statue.
It's a nice camera, but I wouldn't recommend late night photo's much.

Bryce... send me a PM next time you do this and I'll see if I can make it... I'd like to cruise around with a few other miata folks and I'm always down with photography as long as you guys are cool with me setting up my tripod and rocking the film at ever stop. I'm too damn cheap to get a quality digital.

Easy fix; change the F-stop as low as it will go! 5-6

Find a good spot that you can go to in the morning or afternoon (which ever works for your case) that close to another structure/building that will block the sunlight withough casting on your subject or on the background. Then you can usally head out about 4pm or so and still have ample time to setup, take some test shots, and shoot for hours if needed!
Inbetween buildings (if you look close you can see the building blocking the sunlight on the door reflection).
Inbetween a building and large tree line

That FD with the Re Amemiya body kit and crazy *** paint job was at this one kinod miata meet I went to out here in socal (the meet was more like a 0-offset club). That FD is crazy looking, I'm not sure if I like it, but it is very distinctive, the engine bay is almost more impressive! Lots of chrome. Its wierd that the guy was in cali and dropped in on a miata meet and then went to texas and did the same thing, I wonder if all the FD guys shun him lol.
And those are some nice pictures of your cars, I need to play with my camera more and get some better ones of mine.
