Default M-Tuned Re-route with OEM Stat?

Has anybody used an NA OEM 2-stage thermostat with this kit? Any reason not to? Still have to drill a hole?

If I recall correctly the housing is a different diameter than an oem thermostat.

I just replaced my T-stat in my m-tuned reroute housing and it fit fine. Just asked for a a stat for a 94 miata at autozone and used that one. I did drill a hole in it though. I was having some over heating issues before the the T-stat opened which led me to replace it. Come to find out, there was no hole in the original.

The OEM one is a bit different from the generic ones from the auto parts store. It is a 2 stage unit. That said, I have no idea now if it will present a problem in the M-Tuned kit. Guess I'll just give it a try in a day or two. Will report back if it fits or not.

Won't know for a while if it works OK though. My car will probably be on jack stands for a bit yet.

Ah, didn't know that. At least you know the diameter will work (assuming those are the same).
