looks like a good place for this..lol

Went to Prather Motorsports and put 3 runs on the dyno. I was actually there to get a 1" return welded on the turbo inlet pipe to recirc the ssqv. Said what the hell and put her on for 60 bucks. Yes I didnt run up to redline cause Im a puss (180k+ miles stock bottom and my dd) and let off little after 6k, probably not much up there anyways from the looks of it, lol.

Runs are 4th gear, 13psi on tbird/vj20 hybrid turbo, stock timing (10* base), mid to low 11 afrs in boost. Didnt do any tuning as I was happy with the results in the cars current condition..likely there is more in it but I have future plans so Im not too interested in dialing in atm.

After that, a trip to Heartland Park and on the scales she went..

here is my intro thread with full setup details..

Nice. My gf has one of these with the stock SOHC motor, and it's not that bad for a shitbox even stock...I'd daily it. I bet it's a blast with that much hp. Better yet, she's offered to sell it to me for $50 when she ditches it so I can Chumpify it. I figure it would be a decent starting point.

IMO those were some of the best cars Mazda ever made. Built like a four door/seat Miata. Unfortunately they're getting harder to find in good condition. Paid $1300 for mine. Everything worked on it when I got and when I sold it a year later for...$1300.

hmmm imgs should be working.

Ive been hanging on to the miata rims because of the 12lbs they weigh, but yes they arent the most attractive lol.

agreed, the 1G protege is one of the most underrated 90's imports. hell they came turbo 4wd stock in japan and other parts of the world, as Im sure many of you are well aware. US always gets the **** end lol. They are pretty easy to make "fast" by getting ahold of relatively cheap stock turbo parts and keep a low profile at the same time. Just needs a LSD, which Im working on. (MSP lsd)

Looks great! Bet driving that thing is a blast. I have a 4 door b13 sentra and I would imagine they are quite similarly mannered. The dyno looks great btw.

Looks good, is it a full gtx bpt engine or just mani and turbo?

This was my 2/3 of the year dd while I was in school (Full gtx fwd swap). I used a b6 f trans and only had one die in 4 years of 14psi from the diff pin sneaking away.

thanks, gets the job done for sure. Not much problem getting in front of most cars who think they should be in front.. The faces some people make are quite entertaining lol.

A little head work, 9.5 pistons and 2.5"-3" exh goes a long way, in my car's "prime" it could hang with mildly modded mazdaspeed 3's pretty evenly. Sadly the kid that bought it decided going from 14psi to 20 psi with no tuning changes was ok.
