If I remember the new Urethanes are the most durable and easier to apply. Laquers and enamels take longer to dry and will fade more in the sun as it ages. Urathanes are also less toxic to apply.
I don't have the links on my home PC but will attempt top post some I found for great info on the differences and basic painting tips.
Do a Google search for DIY painting and you will find a ton of info.
Good luck. I have been doing research for the past six months and have aquired the tools needed so that I can paint the three Miatas in my family this fall. That is if I do not screw up the first one!
Do you have a particular paint brand in mind? I was considering the newer Summit paints and have read lots of good reviews, Summit also has tons of info on the website about the paint.
