From post #19..."I am going to be drag racing the car."

Sorry if I confused people with the way it was worded.

But, what it boils down to...I am doing this to have fun!!!!!!

I bought his old kit so I follow his progress. It's coming. I'm also dying to see it but I'm sure Mike's setup is going to be mind blowing.

Well, the car is running and driveable.

I have to adjust the cold start and warm up enrichments. Besides that it is running good. I have the tuning pretty close, after a few more datalogs I think I will have it where I want it. It's been raining here, so tuning any boost has been impossible...that is unless I want to do circles.

I still have a couple of other little projects, but for the most part I am happy with where I am at now.

I'll post later when it isn't raining to see how it is doing in the power department. I am only running at 12 psi for now. Once I have everything where I like it, I will start inching up the boost to about 20psi.

I'm actually south of houston, in angleton.

I am having a heck of a time getting things sorted. I have a few issues I need to try to work out...It is driveable, but it's not quite as smooth as I would like. Occasional misfires, for which reason I can not figure out. First thing I am going to check is plugs. Occasional Backfires (mainly having to do with rev limiter), which I hope to have a partial fix for tomorrow.

Had a check engine light come in, hoping that will shed some light...or inform me of another problem.....

It is definately a project........................................... ...

Lucky me, the error was from an intermittent cam sensor. I am running a 94-97 CAS on the exhaust cam for the signal, It puts out a signal @ 90 degrees BTDC, which is within spec. Anyone with input on a fix for that one? That would probably account for the occasional misfires...maybe. I am going to go crazy

I use to have a friend in Angleton. I can not remember his name for the life of me now. He had a 91 smurf blue that was turbocharged. He helped me install the ACT clutch on the 92 I had way back when.

edit:

Mark Allen. Would be funny if you happen to know him.

I don't know him, but glad that someone else in the area has a turbo miata

It is the BEGI Coolant Re-Route. It allows the flow from the heater core to go through the radiator.

Well, I am getting there pretty well. I need to do a few more datalogs and get some more of my street tuning done. Besides that I can't really complain too much. I fixed an my CEL...stupid connector came off the CAS...

It pulls extremely hard, even at 12psi. As hard or harder then my first setup that made 300 whp at 20psi. I'm interested to see what kind of torque figures I have now. We'll see once I get tuning finished and put on the dyno...hopefully in 2 weeks or so.

The Turbo really drives pretty good, for being so big. According to datalogs, I am hitting wastegate pressure(12psi) at 4100 rpms. Not too shabby.

This is the first I have seen of this thread. I remember when BEGI was first making that manifold available and it was definately not PNP.

Can you tell us a bit about what is needed for the manifold install?
