Drifting Miata's
Are any of you familar with drifiting a miata? I had heard about a guy in my area and have always wanted to drift it. Do you think it will drift with stock engine and parts? I have a 1999 10AE, shocks are old, it's got a strut bar though.
Also I have 19" wheels and a heavy spoiler, so not sure if that messes up my weight ratio. Was thinking of maybe buying a used stripped down miata and building on it up from there to drift or an old used BMW M3.

Well to answer the original question, yes it will be able to drift but wont do it very well. I also wouldnt expect your car to remain in its current condition very long. For drifting, get some stock wheels and put crappy tires on them. Then take off your front sway bar and possibly even add a stiffer rear bar. Then if you want to practice ... for the love of god dont do it on the street, find a big empty parking lot or something.
oh btw, 19" rims? do you really like the way they look? Ive always thougth anything bigger than 16" looked out of place
too big
just right
