yeah gas was on, double checked a million times, i squeeze the trigger and the needle on the gauge twitches. so its getting gas. i used roloc disks and acetone to clean the area to be welded. maybe the roloc contaminated the area. also this is the 1st time i used an extention cord( made from very heavy gauge wire suitable for the welder 220v) im thinking this was drawing alot of power from the welder. evey other time ive welded ive had it pluged right into the outlet and its worked fine. im not worryed, it looks like crap but its covered and its sturdy

challenge: build the same car, do 80% of the work yourself, build your own motor, and parts. and last but not least you cant be in debt because of it. if you beat me ill ill bow down to you
most likley it will be done by summer next year. but im saving to buy a house in the spring time so we'll see

I don't see the problem with taking time with a project.. I've been working on my motorcycle for 2 years and it hasn't been driven consistently yet. Why rush through an experience like this? My bike is a far cry from his Miata, but this is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby. If you have the time and resources to actually "complete" it, you'll save money by having a definitive end; opposed to continually modding until you sell it..
