Can I get some louvers? What I like about thepass is that he is marketing and producing for this particular chassis. This big selling point for me is that he going through the R&D process to insure a functional piece on this chassis.

So please leave the argument out and-keep this thread about thepass louvers.

I'm going to be painting in a bit and will be venting. I'll probably end up in the gt500 club if something else doesn't pop up in a reasonable amount of time.

I'll send this guy my money. The V.Rapper guy isn't a sponsor, nor does he give a **** about Miata's.

Now, if Emilio suddenly decides to make hood vents...

I have never seen a product come to market so fast lol. That is actually pretty hilarious. It even hits the right areas.

Post #51, one July 14th, someone linked to some louvers on my website.

Then, the next day on the 15th, Ryan posts drawings of parts that look almost identical to my S2000 Hood Louvers that I sell.

Yes, i'm aware. I follow that thread.

On the 17th I reached out to him on the forum to contact me. He did. That's when I sent him an email to see if he wanted to work together at this instead of just stealing my designs and waiting on his waterjet guys. He never responded. I wrote him back on the 21st and asked if he was going to communicate with me or not. He said he was too busy and would contact me "next week" to talk about it.
And here we are... it's "next week" now, and you're flipping **** over a thread that was started before the 21st anyways. It's like you're 3 years old and can't wait for your next piece of cake.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you were considering partnering with someone on a project like this, would you start a new thread to sell your items without talking to the person who you were considering to be actually manufacturing the parts for you? He already listed pricing......how can he do that if he's considering working with me and has no idea what I'd charge to do the work?
How can he do this? I do this all the time. I know what people will pay for something, and i'll set a target price long before i even mess with figuring out how much it'll cost someone else to make/supply parts for me.

Why? Because if i can't hit my target, there's no point in going further. I'm also not going to **** around with polling a bunch of people and THEN go back and figure out how much it will cost. It's a waste of everyone's time.

Also please be aware: This is NOT a thread to sell parts. This is a Gauging Interest thread.

I know this, because in the thread title it says "Gauging Interest."

That's my point. He never intended to work with me....or he would have contacted me before starting this thread so we could discuss how long it would take to get prototype parts......how long it would take to get production parts......how much those parts would cost. Pretty tough to set prices when you don't even know the cost of your parts, huh?
He started this thread on the 17th. Don't be dumb.

For the pricing, see above. Don't be dumb.

You can call it whining if you like. It matters not to me. My point is that he saw the link to the parts on my website, went to my website, copied my design, passed it off as his own and then refused to work with the guy he stole the design from. I could have come at him all pissed off about this, but I didn't.
I'm still not seeing where he stole your design. That's what everyone here is wrestling with and trying to figure out what you're crying about. Are you speaking specifically to the "ship flat" deal? Because the shapes of the panels themselves are not the same.

Instead I offered to HELP HIM and REDUCE HIS COSTS AND WAIT TIME FOR PROTOTYPE AND PRODUCTION PARTS. My guess is that he didn't take my offer because he knows that he's the one in the wrong here and he did indeed copy my design directly from my website and passed it off as his own. So instead, he avoided me. I'm not whining about it.....I'm just stating that it's a pretty shady way to do business IMO.
That's certainly noble of you. And you're CERTAINLY not whining.

Honestly, it surprises me that so many people can support someone who decided to sell parts based on a design stolen from someone else. I guess that's just the way the world is now.

No.... we're supporting someone who is a beloved member of our community, who does care about Miatas, and doesn't **** all over our door.

In fact, i'm sure most of us would be willing to spend MORE to support said member as an alternative to seeing more posting from you.

Heh, those pictures shows something pretty cool, closed louvers.
Having them open/close based on coolant temp would be nice...

Just another place to use unnecessary complexity...

lol, that's what I thought exactly - things are still dripping wet. Expecting images of Pass'ssss center louvered section in 6 hrs. Someone needs to waterjet their thumbnail.

Wow that was fast. I'm still on Ryan and his design. I also prefer bottom mount as I have access to a welder toclean up the cuts. Ryan please pm me when they become available.

RVapor's Miata vents are vapor as near as I can tell since they are only for honduhs.

And he is a silly goose for insinuating he first designed a louver of that profile. Such a silly goose.

And I frankly think they are ugly as fyuck and would rather use them as a cheese grater than cut holes in my hood for them. So I frankly DGAF.

I have no gripe with VR making his own product. Taking quotes from what I've said about the merits of louvers and using them on his site.. now that's a bit more shady, but more power to him for following through with his boasts.

I will say that there are differences between what he's put together and what I'm working on, and of course I personally think that those differences are important ones. I'm not interested in a dick measuring contest on who can produce something faster, I'm focusing on making something that comprehensively does just what we need.

There are some lessons learned here for me about not posting pics of what you're working on too soon, but this (the business, not the louvers) is a new venture for me and you live and learn.

Naturally, there will be some in the camp of "gotta have it now" that will go for the VR stuff, but I will continue my work on my own design.

Sounds like a personal problem. If so many people come to you wanting custom louvers, and they're so easy to make that you can crank a custom set of them out in six hours, why do you only have two three models on your website?

If you went out to the enthusiast car forums and were polite, I'm sure people (like ThePass) would help you design these things just to get them to market for all sorts of cars, but seeing your reaction on these forums, I'm just going to say that's probably not possible....

Will glady wait for ThePass's NA offering.

We don't want to announce anything until it's ready to launch, however, there will be a group buy posted for a different product within the next couple days.

Mazda Miata (99-05) Hood Louvers – $99

Those do look sharp and do seem to be right where I need them and when I need them.

"Can't we all just get along" HAHA

Seriously, when the Miata cooling thread showed up I had just installed a Rotrex and was (still am) having cooling issues. I had already been scouring the interwebs to find a hood louver solution. I landed on Shane's sight and felt he had the best solution because of the amount of open area this type of louver gives you vs. the rest. I found no other sight with this water jetted solution. The same type showed up on Emilio's "cooling" thread soon after I discovered Shane's sight... posted by the Pass. I don't know who "invented" this concept, but it's pretty obvious who's been doing it longer. I like the Pass ..he has answered many questions I have asked him since I have been on this sight. I also like Shane. I need these now!! Shane has them in stock. I will be anxious to see what other stuff the Pass comes out with.
