Default 1995 Hole In Block

Hi,
I am new to this site and have a question about my Miata's block.
I am in the process of rebuilding my 1.8 and came across a hole in the bottom of the block next to the oil squirter. I have seen photos of other blocks that look like this but I don't know if they all just happen to fail there or if they are made like that. When I took it apart I didn't see any giant chunks of metal fall out or any signs of damage anywhere else. Is this supposed to be there? Or does this mean that my block is ruined? I found another thread on here talking about it but didn't really get any helpful info about this.

No worries. It is just where the oil drains back from the cylinder head.

Thanks! This is my first build and it just worried me a bit.
